LIMA — The Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or people involved in the deaths of five dogs and one cat that were found on the northeast edge of Lima over the weekend.
According to the Ohio SCPA and Humane Society’s Facebook page, the agency was contacted late Saturday by the Allen County Sheriff’s Department regarding animals that had been dumped in the area of Slabtown Road and the Interstate 75 overpass.
The remains of the animals were immediately picked up by the Ohio SPCA and examined by a local veterinarian. The breeds have been identified as Chinese Crested, Pomeranian, Chihuahua, Yorkshire terrier, Goldendoodle and a Siamese cat. Only the Chihuahua was microchipped, and the Ohio SPCA has attempted to contact the family with an address listed in Montgomery County. The Ohio SPCA is seeking any information on the deaths of these animals.
“We are offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest of the person(s) involved,” said Executive Director Teresa Landon.
