The family of a missing Montana woman is offering a reward for her safe return.
Katelynn Berry, a 26-year-old former resident of Grand Forks, was first reported missing to police in Sidney, Montana, on Dec. 31. Her mother is Carmell Mattison , a Grand Forks County prosecutor. Mattison, some family friends, and Hank Berry , Katelynn’s father, are offering a combined $10,000 for their daughter’s safe return by Feb. 1 or information directly leading to it, Hank Berry told the Herald on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
“As long as we get her back,” he said. Feb. 1 is Katelynn Berry’s birthday.
Hank Berry, who manages a local warehouse, said he last saw his daughter on Dec. 21 and reported her missing after she didn’t return his calls or text messages for several days. Police said they found in Katelynn Berry’s apartment her cell phone, winter jacket, and other items that a person would not be likely to leave behind.
Law enforcement officials have begun a pair of investigations into Katelynn Berry’s disappearance: a missing persons case and a criminal investigation . Police have searched the area around the woman’s apartment with dogs, drones, and helicopters, according to Richland County Sheriff John Dynneson. Sidney, a town of about 6,400 people near the Montana/North Dakota border, is the county seat.
