He was taken to Access’ emergency clinic, then county animal control, and finally Barky Pines Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Loxahatchee on May 1.

Since then, staff members there have been caring for him and nursing him back to health.

Barky Pines founder Elizabeth Accomando said the reward money comes from donations from their supporters on social media.

“As you can see, he’s a very sweet little energetic man, in spite of it all. But we’d really like to get some justice for him. People need to take some responsibility,” Accomando said. “If you’re going to get an animal, this is not how you treat them. You have to take the responsibility and take the ownership and care for them.”

Anyone with information about who burned Horacio is asked to contact Palm Beach County Animal Control.
