Reward for finding TJ was originially $3,000
RED BANK, Tenn. (WDEF) — Nearly a month after he disappeared, Red Bank resident Alona Smith was finally reunited with her beloved dog, TJ.
The initial reward for finding him was a whopping $3,000.
Smith says TJ was found nearly 45 miles away from home under a camper trailer, but he was safely lured out with a bowl of dog treats.
He was covered in almost 200 ticks and has since been taken to both a local animal hospital and a groomer, who offered to groom him for free.
The woman who found TJ amazingly turned down the four-digit reward.
Smith says TJ is home now, resting, and that finding him was a “culmination of community.”
She says she’s proud of the surrounding Red Bank community and even prouder to be a member of it.
