The 10 Best Shenanigans In Spiritfarer

Spiritfarer is a slow-paced management game about death and the afterlife. The themes can be heavy and thought-provoking, but this doesn’t mean there isn’t room for some light-hearted humor and fun in between. Spiritfarer manages to combine sadness and joy to create a meaningful gaming experience.

The Shenanigans serve as quirky side quests which, at first, may seem completely pointless. Some contain rewards at their end while others don’t. Sometimes the quest itself is the reward in a way, allowing Stella, and the player, to discover more about the spiritual limbo of Spiritfarer and the numerous characters stuck there.

“Greetings From Furogawa!” Is A Tranquil Tour

Early on in Spiritfarer, the player will find themselves on the small island of Gurenu Fields in the Furogawa region. Here, they’ll meet a tour guide, who takes Stella across the island. As the tour progresses through the tranquil landscape, the tour guide will stop at certain landmarks.

One of these landmarks is a sacred tree. Players will need to speak to the humble tour guide to find out more information about Gurenu Fields and the Furogawa region. This Shenanigan sets the pace for the rest of Spiritfarer, encouraging players to take their time and enjoy the unfolding narrative.

Check Off The To-Do List In “Everyone Loves Errands”

Throughout their Spiritfarer playthrough, gamers will come to know Francis The Wandering Merchant, very well. On the map, players will be able to see where Francis is pitched at any given time. It’s particularly helpful when players have items, like expensive Tchotchkes, that can be sold or when they want to receive rewards from various Errands.

These Errands involve collecting certain resources in exchange for valuable rewards. Once players complete their first Errand, “Healthy Menu,” they’ll have completed this introductory Shenanigan and be ready to tackle whatever else Francis throws their way.

Spread The Music In “Dice Boys Presents…”

When players venture all the way to Oxbury, they’ll meet a group of spirits at the docks. Once the musical spirits realize that Stella has never heard of them or their music before, they give the player a load of records to pass on to others to support their rise to fame.

This Shenanigan is purely for fun, and there’s no real reward apart from making the spirits happy. Players will need to travel across the map to Bottom Line Corp, Furogawa, and Hummingberg to adequately share the Dice Boys’ tunes.

Ready To “Ride The Lemon Dragon?”

Unlike Furogawa, Oxbury is a built-up metropolitan area full of spirits and stories. If players speak to the unassuming spirit standing at the lemonade stand, they’ll be assigned a task to retrieve his missing lemon shipment. He’s new, and desperately needs Stella’s help to kickstart his business.

If Stella chats with the delivery man at Southpoint Docks, she’ll have done all she needs to do to track down the all-important delivery. From here, the player just needs to go back to the lemonade vendor, where they’ll receive a juicy reward of 5000 Glims.

End A Fight With A Song In “Paul Vs Simons”

At Edgeborough Lane, Stella will stumble across a bunch of spirits embroiled in an argument about a song. Once one of them finally spots the player, he’ll ask if they can lend him a hand in this debate by playing the song on their guitar and putting the whole thing to rest. Unfortunately, Stella doesn’t have the sheet music to do that just yet.

So, players will need to set out on yet another adventure. In Nordweiler, Stella can purchase the sheet music for a song titled The Autumn End. From here, Stella can head back to Edgeborough Lane and provide the spirits with a musical performance they won’t forget.

“Hummingberg Preservation Society?” Involves A Local Clean Up

At Alt Harbor, where Spiritfarer begins, players will need to speak to the Island Renovator. They’ll ask the player to get involved in a local cleaning effort, which entails breaking open floating crates to obtain the required quantities of Household Glue and Silk Thread.

Players might need to top up their stocks by either crafting the materials or finding more elsewhere. Once this has been completed, Stella must speak to the spirit named Jabari at Alt Harbor to gain her reward: the blueprints for a crucial Windmill improvement.

Follow The Treasure Map In “Lost Bounty”

“Lost Bounty” is one of The Wandering Merchant’s more dynamic Errands. Francis will send the player a letter once they’ve unlocked and built the ship mailbox. This letter will contain a treasure map in a bottle, detailing the exact coordinates of where Stella can find some treasure.

Here, gamers get to play pirate and track down the bounty by using their ship’s navigation system. Once they’ve arrived at the location, they’ll need to dive into the water in search of the precious booty. Their efforts will be rewarded with the blueprints for a Foundry improvement.

A Spirit Is Lost At Sea In ‘Driftwood’

The Gurenu Fields Tour Guide provides more than just an atmospheric respite from saving souls. He’ll also send Stella to Furogawa on a journey to find his missing friend.

At Furogawa, the player will obtain the lost friend Simon’s coordinates. Additionally, Stella will need to fish up a document titled “Help!” From here, the player can journey across the seas to Simon’s location and save him from his lonely situation.

Is That ‘The Sweet Smell Of Success’?

Once players get to Nordsee Pier, they’ll inevitably end up speaking to the first spirit they see. He’ll unreasonably be convinced that Stella is a budding actress who could easily become a movie star. He’ll encourage the player to speak to a few of his colleagues to get more information.

First, the player will need to chat with Ingrid at Old-Central District, then Katherine at Obscure Canopy, and finally, Larry at Nordsee Pier once again. In true Spiritfarer fashion, the player will receive a Cow Stall improvement as a reward for their island hopping.

Some ‘Berry Good’ Picking

This Shenanigan is simple and down-to-earth. Sometimes, there really is no better activity than collecting wild berries. Barry, a Berry Picker at Obscure Canopy will ask the player if they can retrieve 15 of each berry available in the game: Raspberries, Strawberries, and Blueberries.

As always, this task will require some traveling, with all the different berries being found at various locations across the map. Once Stella has the 45 berries, she’ll need to chat with Barry again and receive her well-deserved reward: an Orchard improvement.
