The family of a 24-year-old Oakley resident missing since January renewed its calls for the public’s help in finding her remains and has doubled a reward to $100,000.

Alexis Gabe’s family announced the reward increase in a Friday post on a Facebook group dedicated to finding her. The family encouraged the public to join the search for Gabe, who disappeared the evening of Jan. 26. She was last seen on Benttree Way in Antioch wearing a white tank top, black jeans and green sneakers.

“We came to our tough decision to finally accept that our only daughter is gone. Losing a child is the worst feeling ever,” Gabe’s family wrote in the Facebook post. “We want to hopefully find her (Alexis) and give her a proper memorial service then we can finally bring her home.”

Local authorities suspect Gabe’s ex-boyfriend, Marshall Curtis Jones, 27, killed Gabe in his Antioch home the day she went missing. U.S. Marshals Service officers shot and killed Jones in Washington state after he allegedly charged at officials with a knife as they tried to arrest him for Gabe’s death.

The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office said last month that Jones’ mother will not face charges in aiding her son in the killing because of “insufficient evidence.”

The family’s reward will be given to anyone who finds or provides information leading to recovery of Gabe’s remains. People interested in participating in the search are required to sign up at alexisgabe.com to qualify for the reward.

“The City of Oakley and the Oakley Police Department recognize the Gabe family, and the Oakley community at large has been deeply impacted by the homicide of Alexis Gabe,” Oakley Police Chief Paul Beard said in a statement. “This impact is made even larger due to the fact her body has not been recovered.”
