Woman with special needs, health concerns missing since June; reward offered

The family of 63-year-old Sylvia Ann Brooks is offering a $2,000 cash reward for information leading to her location.

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. — The Florence County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find a missing woman with special needs and health concerns.

Deputies say 63-year-old Sylvia Ann Brooks has been missing from her home on Cherry Johnson Road in Effingham, South Carolina, since the early morning hours of Sunday, June 19, 2022. She is believed to have left home on foot. 

Due to underlying health concerns, which deputies say include diabetes, autism and hypertension, investigators believe Brooks to be endangered.

Deputies say Brooks stands approximately 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. 

Brooks’ family is offering a $2,000 cash reward for information leading to her location.
