Arelie Garcia has been missing for two months but her family is not losing hope

Salinas-native Arelie Garcia, 25, went missing on September 22 and hasn’t been heard from or seen since. Surveillance video shows Garcia’s last known moments. It shows her leaving her Salinas apartment in her car around 6:30 a.m. The family says she was suppose to start work at 7 a.m. but never showed up for her shift. That same day, Garcia’s vehicle was found near the Little Sur River in Big Sur. The Salinas police department has been investigating the case but has come to a standstill because no new information has come forward. According to Salinas Police Commander Brian Johnson, they have checked Arelie’s bank account activity for any suspicious transactions. They have also contacted local hospitals and police departments in the area to report her missing but nothing has led to any leads or evidence of foul play.“We tell the family that we’re searching hard, we’re working. We understand the sadness that you’re feeling and of course, we want to find her just as much as you do,” said Johnson.Areli’es family is not giving up either. Since the day Arelie went missing the family has organized searches, been active on social media, and rallied support from the community to bring awareness to Arelie’s case.On Friday, December 9, the family held a rally in front of the Salinas Police Department calling for the police to not give up on Arelie Garcia’s case.The family has also set up a GoFundMe account to raise funds for a cash reward for anyone that comes forward with information that will solve the case. They say the money will also go to fund future search teams looking for Arelie.
