Friends for Animals of Metro Detroit is offering a reward leading to the arrest of a person or persons who shot a cat with an arrow in Dearborn.
Santana was picked up by Dearborn Police after being found with an arrow through him. He was brought to the animal rescue group, who got him emergency surgery from Affiliated Veterinary Service.
The arrow had collapsed both of the cat’s lungs. He is currently recovering from his procedure until he’s ready for adoption.
In the group’s Facebook post, most images of Santana have been blurred out due to their graphic nature. Discretion is advised.
“In his recovery, we’ve been amazed by how sweet and social Santana is,” the group wrote in its post. “Our staff and volunteers will continue to take care of him until he is ready to find his forever home.”
The animal rescue group is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the culprit or culprits. Anyone with information is asked to dial (313)943-2697, ext. 1017.
