Police find car used in NE DC shooting that left teen dead, juvenile injured

D.C. police said they found a light-colored Acura sedan that was used in a shooting Monday that left a teen dead and a juvenile injured in Northeast.

Officers said they responded to the 4600 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast near Deanwood Metro station around 3:28 p.m. to help Metro Transit Police with a reported shooting.

When they arrived, officers said they found a juvenile with gunshot wounds. A short time later, they also found a teen with gunshot wounds in a nearby vehicle.

The teen died on the scene and the juvenile was taken to a hospital for treatment, officers said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the two were in a stolen Kia sedan traveling northbound on Minnesota Avenue, Northeast when another vehicle pulled up next to them and opened fire, according to officials.

The suspect vehicle – described as a light-colored Acura sedan – was recovered Tuesday unoccupied, officials said.

No arrests have been made.
