Police arrest man linked to 22 DC auto offenses

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrested a man wanted for 22 auto offenses around D.C.

On Feb. 27 around 11:45 a.m., MPD officers were on patrol when they saw a stolen car. An Air Support Unit tracked the car to the 500 block of 56th St. in Northeast D.C. and three suspects got out and ran away.

Officers arrested one suspect, 22-year-old Jordan Young. He was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, receiving stolen property and possession of implements of a crime.

While investigating, MPD said Young was linked to 22 theft from auto and destruction of property cases in the District. Most of the offenses involved theft of tools from cars.

MPD was still investigating the cases.

Anyone with information is asked to call (202) 727-9099. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered to anyone with information that leads to the arrest and indictment of those involved.
