Baltimore County police still seek clues in 1960 murder of 9-year-old Alva Parris

Baltimore County police are still searching for clues in the unsolved murder of 9-year-old Alva Parris.

Parris’ body was found in Essex on June 15, 1960, five days after she went missing.

Her body was covered with leaves, tree branches, and lye (or alkaline). You can view her video case file here.

Parris left her house on June 10, 1960 on the way to her aunt’s house.

Police say her killer may be dead, but clues may have been passed down through family members.

Anyone with information is urged to call Baltimore County Police Metro Stoppers at 1-866-756-2587 or the Homicides and Missing Persons Unit at 410-887-3943.

Police are also offering a reward of up to $2,000 for anyone with information.
