Deputy Lansing Named Unsung Hero for September

Hello again everyone! This month, we’re spotlighting someone from the law enforcement community.

This time, our nomination is Deputy Lucas Lansing with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department! Let’s learn a little about Deputy Lansing from his nominator, Janice Daleen.

This is a person I had not met, but he saved my life earlier this summer. I was choking at a restaurant and he and his family were there having lunch. There is no doubt in my mind I would not be here if it were not for his training and his abilities and persistence. I will be forever indebted and grateful to him for his knowledge and willingness to serve others. May GOD bless him and his work.

What a dramatic moment!  A Deputy is eating a nice meal with his family, when he sees someone in distress and jumps in to help.  He used his training to save this woman’s life!  Let’s hear more about what happened from Deputy Lansing himself, in his interview with our news director, Randy Kirby!

Deputy Lansing may be a dude of few words, but we appreciate his helpfulness and altruistic spirit! That “gotta help” instinct is surely going to be very helpful in his law enforcement career.  I see him going places!   That reminds me. I gotta brush up on my Heimlich maneuver.

You can nominate your next Unsung Hero right here. It can be anybody who you know, work with, or in this case, have a brief encounter with. If they’re doing some good here in our towns, we wanna know.

Heimlically yours,

Behka
