Toledo Police DepToledo Police Seek Fugitive Murder Suspect Deontae Mitchell

Dogs, man. You think you’ve got their shenanigans all figured out, and then one goes and snacks on a bag of Orbeez like it’s gourmet kibble. Yep, a curious pup recently found himself in a sticky – or should we say squishy – situation after devouring a bag of Orbeez, those colorful water beads usually reserved for kids’ crafts and sensory play. Spoiler alert: things got weird.

For the uninitiated, Orbeez are tiny beads that grow about a gazillion times their size when they come into contact with water. So, when this doggo decided to chow down on them, they naturally expanded inside his stomach like some kind of DIY balloon animal experiment. Suddenly, his gastrointestinal tract was less “digestive system” and more “bounce house.”

The concerned Colorado based owner rushed him to the emergency vet, where an x-ray revealed what we’re all dreading: a stomach filled with an absurd number of hydrated Orbeez. In fact, what they saw on the x-ray was just 25% of the beads he had consumed. The other 75%? Yeah, those had to be surgically removed. This dog didn’t just have a tummy ache; he had a technicolor nightmare going on in there.

The dog’s owner, gave the vet tech permission to post the video, who goes by @larenmciaren on TikTok, shared the whole saga online, saying, “Accidents happen and dogs are quick y’all! He needed surgery to remove the rest, but he’s on the road to recovery.” She also added that the poor pupper is underweight, having been rescued not too long ago. Which, if anything, makes you wonder if he thought those Orbeez were some kind of dog-approved snack or if he was just living his best chaotic life.

She went on to explain just how much the dog had eaten: an entire bag of dry Orbeez. Let that sink in – or in this case, expand. Since the beads only swell up when hydrated, the real surprise came later. As the Orbeez continued to grow in his stomach, they made their dramatic exit in a rainbow display during the next round of poops.

And yes, there was apparently even more “material” to come out after that.

Thankfully, after a lot of stress, surgery, and some very memorable vet bills, this resilient pupper is bouncing back. He’s still underweight, but the rainbow-poop saga has finally come to an end. While his owner might have some new gray hairs after this ordeal, at least it’s a reminder for the rest of us: Dogs will eat anything.

So, if you’ve got a pooch, maybe keep the Orbeez out of reach – unless you’re looking to add a little extra color to your life in the most unexpected way possible.
