Atlantic City Mayor Child Abuse Case Widens, New Person Charged

The net has widened, as we have confirmed that the Atlantic County, New Jersey Prosecutor’s Office has filed criminal charges against a 4th individual in the Marty and La’Quetta Small child abuse case.

Toria C. Young has been criminally charged with the following:

  • OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT-NON-PERFORM DUTIES-BENEFIT
  • HINDERING-HIDE EVID-UNDERLYING 2ND DEGREE
  • FAILURE TO REPORT AN ACT OF CHILD ABUSE

Young is the secretary to (the currently suspended) Atlantic City High School Principal Constance Days-Chapman.

Chapman, along with Marty and La’Quetta Small were all similarly direct criminally charged by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Chapman, Marty and La’Quetta Small have all since been indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury.

Of note, the charges against Young were filed on September 18, 2024, the day after Marty and La’Quetta Small were indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury.

This is likely not a coincidence.

Regarding the indictment of Marty and La’Quetta Small:

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed the following:

On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Marty Small, Sr., 50, and his wife, La’Quetta Small, 47, of Atlantic City, NJ were both indicted for second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Marty Small, Sr. was also indicted for third-degree Terroristic Threats, and third-degree Aggravated Assault.

An Atlantic County Grand Jury previously indicted Days-Chapman on a variety of criminal charges as follows:

  • second-degree Official
    Misconduct.
  • one count of second-degree Pattern of Official Misconduct.
  • one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
  • one count of third-degree Hindering
    Apprehension of Another.

Here are copies of the New Jersey court documents that confirm the new criminal charges filed against Young:

There is presently much intrigue as to whether or not Days-Chapman or Young will flip on Marty and La’Quetta Small … because Days-Chapman and Young will face major jail time should they be convicted of these serious criminal charges.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has not released the news of the latest criminal charges filed against a 4th person (Young) in this growing case.

This could be another signal that there may be mounting divisions between these four criminally charged individuals.

Young is related to Marty and La’Quetta Small.

Developing.
