$1500 reward offered for info in Orange County HVAC theft

— The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding out who stole a pair of HVAC units on Monday.

Investigators believe whoever stole the units drove a pickup truck to take them from the Cedar Grove Ruritan Club on Efland Cedar Grove Road.

Surveillance photos and video show an older, square-bodied truck, probably a Ford, at the building. The truck had tinted windows and a broken headlight on the passenger side. At least two people were in the truck, according to investigators.

Orange County Sheriff Charles Blackwood is offering a $1500 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information should call (919) 245-2960 or email jnazworth@orangecountync.gov.

“The historic Ruritan building has served as the lifeblood of the Cedar Grove community for many years, in many ways,” said Sheriff Blackwood. “Not only is this a criminal offense harming the Ruritans, it is also a slap in the face to the people who value this facility and what it means to this community.”
