Reward offered for information about cruelty, death of two dogs in Muskogee County

MUSKOGEE COUNTY, Okla. — Oklahoma Alliance for Animals is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for the cruelty and death of two animals.

Volunteers with Fur Babies Adoptions and Rescue were working to save three stray dogs reported near Haskell in Muskogee County four miles north of Highway 16 on N/S 214 Road last weekend.

Rescuers say they came out to feed the dogs who were timid and shy. After working with the dogs and gaining trust, Saturday morning a group came out to the area to rescue the dogs, but they didn’t turn up.

Rescuers said the dogs were going to a foster home and would eventually be relocated into a forever home. Instead, one of the volunteers with the nonprofit group says they found two of the animals shot dead and their bodies dumped in a nearby creek.

They’re still searching for the third.

OAA says the dogs were going to have a better life until someone killed them and carelessly tossed them into a creek. OAA is asking that any tips or information into the investigation go to the Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office at 918-687-0202.
