Jamarcus Esmon: $15K reward offered in Franklin’s unsolved 2020 homicide case

Family and friends celebrate after a walk in memory of Jamarcus Esmon to draw attention to his unsolved case on January 16, 2021, in Franklin, Tenn. Jamarcus Esmon and his daughter, Jayah, are in the poster, bottom right. He was killed last summer and police have struggled to name a suspect in the case.

A year after a man was gunned down in Franklin, a $15,000 reward is being offered in an effort to find his killer.

Jamarcus Esmon, 26, was fatally shot on Edgewood Boulevard around 2 a.m. June 27, 2020. He died at the scene after leaving a birthday party.

Police are still working to locate his killer and haven’t yet named a suspect in the case. Esmon’s killing marked the city’s only homicide in 2020.

The original $5,000 reward has tripled to $15,000 thanks to Gov. Bill Lee and the efforts of District Attorney Kim Helper, a news release said.
