Who killed Jonathan Brockett? $8K reward offered in year-long cold case

Family members have hope the increased reward money will encourage someone to come forward with information.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police are asking for the public’s help solving a cold case.

Wednesday marked one year since Jonathan Brockett was found shot to death. He was 26 years old.

Officers were called to a car crash on Euclid Street on July 14, 2020. That’s where they found Brockett. He’s been shot in his car. He later died at a hospital.

Crime Stoppers is offering an $8,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in the case.

The family is hoping for answers. They have hope the increased reward money will encourage someone to come forward with information. “Somebody knows something. A small tid bit of information that could move this, move us closer to solving this crime that has been perpetrated on my son,” said William Brockett, father of Jonathan Brockett.

His father and his aunt, Keeva Mcfarland say the past year has been extremely difficult for the family. They find some solace with the memories they share. “He’s one of a kind. He can’t be replaced. He was jovial, he was funny. He was himself,” said William Brockett.

If you know anything you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
