Albany Police Chief Michael Persley held a news conference Monday morning about the deadly shooting.

“The family of Nigel Brown is dealing with grief and suffering because some coward on the streets of Albany, Georgia took his life,” Persley said.

The police chief said it’s too early to tell if this was a random act of violence or if the home was targeted. He said officers are canvassing the area.

Persley said he plans to meet with Brown’s family.

“This was a senseless killing,” Persley said.
