Reward offered for information in series of Kan. armed robberies

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a series of business robberies and offering a reward of up to $2500 for information that leads to an arrest, according to a media release from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Just before 9p.m. August 8, the Dollar General at 1920 SW 10th Street in Topeka was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect entered the business with a gun and demanded money from the clerks. The suspect is described as light skinned, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 inches tall and approximately 150 pounds.

At 12:21 a.m. on August 15, a suspect described as a medium to light skinned African American male, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, entered the KWIK shop at  102 SW 37th in Topeka. The suspect demanded money and assaulted the clerk.

The suspect took cash from each robbery and left the business on foot.

There were several patrons in the business at the time of the KWIK shop robbery, according to the FBI. They fled after the robbery. Police would like to speak to them or anyone else who may have information in the case. Call 816-512-8200
