Reward offered to identify suspects in $300,000 fire, vandalism at Ottawa County park

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI — A reward is being offered to help identify anyone involved in arson and vandalism at an Ottawa County Park that caused an estimated $300,000 in damage.

The arson at Grose Park in Chester Township was reported Sept. 14 and involved a maintenance building that housed a truck, several lawn tractors and other equipment.

Vandals also caused significant damage to restroom facilities at the park.

Investigators say the fire is “highly suspicious.”

In all, damage from the fire and to the restroom building is believed to be more than $300,000, according to Ottawa County sheriff’s investigators.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the successful prosecution of anyone involved in the fire or vandalism.
