The provincial government of Negros Occidental is offering a P500,000 reward for any information that may lead to the arrest of suspects behind the murder of Provincial Consultant Mariano Antonio “Marton” Cui in April 12 this year, in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

Despite the intervention of President Rodrigo Duterte, the National Bureau of Investigation and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office have yet to make a breakthrough in the identification of suspects, almost six months after he was murdered.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson disclosed that anybody who may have information in relation to the death of Cui, may contact Atty. Renoir Baldovino, NBI-Bacolod chief, at telephone number (034) 703-2931.

Malacañang earlier directed the NBI to look into the Cui slay case, adding that the Chief Executive strongly condemns the incident and vows that justice will be served.

Police investigations showed that Cui was hit by long-range shots while he was about to board his vehicle outside his office at Emerald Arcade on F.C. Ledesma Avenue, Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City.

Cui had also worked as the chief of staff of former first district congressman Julio Ledesma IV and as an executive assistant for political affairs of incumbent Rep. Gerardo Valmayor Jr.*
