A $10,000 reward is being offered after authorities in Lauderdale County found a severely injured dog tied to a pole. The dog, named Frank by his rescuers, later had to be euthanized due to the severity of his injuries.
The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office reported finding a dog with multiple wounds tied to a pole in the Waterloo community on Oct. 6. Florence-Lauderdale Animal Services Director Cheryl Jones told WHNT it’s believed the injuries to Frank had just occurred and likely resulted from being thrown out of a moving vehicle.
Veterinarians at Mississippi State University worked for several weeks to save Frank but he eventually had to be euthanized due to the severity of his injuries.
The reward is being offered through Shoals Area CrimeStoppers and anyone with information can call 256-386-8685 or contact Lt. Matt Horton with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office at 256-760-5734.
