A $1,000 cash reward is being offered to find the driver who left a man in critical condition following a hit and run off Interstate 45 in Spring last week.
At approximately 9:10 p.m. June 11, a white Chevrolet or GMC work van struck Austin Ard, 26, of Spring, on the southbound shoulder of I-45 just north of Rayford and Sawdust roads, according to a preliminary investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The driver did not stop and as of Wednesday afternoon, Ard was in critical condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital The Woodlands, according to DPS.
The van will have damage to the front right and is missing a right side view mirror, according to DPS. The agency released photographic evidence from the scene, including what appeared to be the retrieved right side view mirror from the van.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 392-STOP (7867). Tipsters will remain anonymous and may earn the thousand-dollar reward.
