$50K Reward Offered For Suspect In 2 Indio Arson Fires

INDIO, CA — A $50,000 reward is being offered to anyone who provides information that will lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for two arson fires set earlier this month at an Indio construction site.

The reward being offered by a private person was announced Wednesday by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The two separate fires occurred on July 4 and July 10 at the construction site of a new ampm gas station and car wash located at 81933 Indio Blvd.

During the first fire, the car wash portion of the project was set ablaze and burned to a total loss. During the second fire, the gas station portion of the project was torched and was also a total loss, according to the sheriff’s department.

The project was approximately 90 percent complete at the time of the first fire.

“It is believed that the two arsons are related,” the sheriff’s department reported.

The Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force is investigating the incidents.

Anyone with information about the fires is asked to contact Deputy Knudson at 760-836-1600.
