Crime of the Week: $10,000 reward offered for info in cold case murder

Crime Stoppers of Wichita Falls needs your help to solve a cold case homicide, according to a media release.

John Richter was found dead June 8, 1997, in his room at the Trade Winds Motel in the 1200 block of Broad Street, according to a Crime Stoppers media release and Times Record News archives.

The 50-year-old man was from Saginaw, Texas, according to TRN archives. Police probed the case as a homicide and a robbery. 

The last time Richter was seen alive was at a pool party at the motel, according to TRN archives. 

Police have very little information about this crime and could use your help. 

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $10,000 if a tip leads to an arrest and the board approves the reward.
