Redding police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man suspected of a shooting that killed another man on June 25.
The shooting was reported around 9 p.m. at an apartment complex on the 3600 block of Churn Creek Road and led to the death of 35-year-old Patrick Baker, according to the Redding Police Department.
After a week of following up on leads, police on Friday afternoon released a portion of a video recorded just before the shooting. The 11-second clip shows multiple people with a red arrow pointed at one of them. That man was identified by witnesses as the suspected shooter, Redding police announced in a news release.
A reward of up to $10,000 has been offered by Secret Witness of Shasta County for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the suspected shooter, according to police. To send an anonymous tip to Secret Witness, call 530-243-2319.

At the time of the shooting, police said Baker had been in a confrontation with a group of men, one of whom is believed to have shot him.
“It is unclear what the confrontation was about. During the altercation, one of the men pulled out a firearm and shot at the victim, subsequently striking him,” police wrote in a Facebook post.
Police said they found Baker suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived. He was taken by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, where he died. Police blocked off part of the apartment complex for more than 12 hours afterward to investigate the incident.
