Reward offered – cat died after someone put a zip-tie around his neck • Pet Rescue Report

A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever put a zip-tie around a cat’s neck in San Diego, California. As reported by KUSI News, the San Diego Humane Society’s Humane Law Enforcement division is hoping that a tip from the public will lead to the identification and arrest of whoever committed the heartbreaking crime.

The cat, described as a Russian Blue, was discovered in the City Heights area – injuries from the zip tie were too severe for the cat to be saved. Now, whoever is responsible could be facing a felony animal cruelty charge.

Chief of Humane Law Enforcement Bill Ganley stated:

“If there is anyone who has information about this heartbreaking case or has witnessed anything, we ask that they come forward and let us know. We’re hoping someone may have seen something and can assist our investigating officers.”

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers. Anyone with a tip or information is asked to reach out to 888-580-8477 or visit the Crime Stoppers website at sdcrimestoppers.org.
