Reward offered for info in 30-year-old unsolved homicide case in Saginaw County

SAGINAW, MI — Authorities are offering a reward of up to four figures for information that could solve a 30-year-old unsolved homicide case in Saginaw County.

On Oct. 26, 1991, authorities found the body of 29-year-old James J. Vogelaar Sr. in his burned home in the 11000 block of South Turner Road in St. Charles Township. An autopsy revealed Vogelaar’s manner of death was homicide.

Investigators believe Vogelaar’s killer set his home on fire in an effort to conceal the crime.
