Reward offered for information in case of woman found shot in SUV with child in backseat


Jessica Skaggs, 27, was found shot in a SUV in an alley in South Linden on June 17, 2020. Her child was unharmed in the backseat. Anyone with information is asked to call Central Ohio Crime Stoppers.

The death of a woman who was found fatally shot inside an SUV in South Linden with her small child in the backseat remains unsolved, and Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.

Jessica Skaggs, 27, of the Far West Side, was found June 17, 2020 in the driver’s seat of an SUV in an alley on the 1500 block of Cordell Avenue in South Linden. 

Police said a man who was taking out the trash noticed the black Kia Soul, which was running, and saw Skaggs and her small child asleep behind the driver’s seat. 

Skaggs is believed to have been shot between 12:20 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The child was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, but did not have any injuries.
