Reward offered for return of dog

THE owners of a Husky who was stolen in the early hours of the morning from their family home in Kilmalum, Blessington back in May are desperate to be reunited with their much loved pet and are offering a reward of €1,500 for anyone who has information that can lead to his return home.

yson the Husky went missing in the early hours of a Monday morning from the O’Connor household at the start of May, and despite a frantic search online and elsewhere for his whereabouts, there still isn’t any sign of Tyson.

However the O’Connor family – made up of parents Chris and Paddy and their two sons Mikey and Patrick – refuse to give up hope.

Mikey, aged 25, brought Tyson home as a pup back in 2017, and the good-natured dog has been a part of the family ever since.

‘We are all desperately worried about him. It’s the unknown that is really killing me. The fact he has been missing for so long is really eating away at me. He could be anywhere.

‘To be honest I would swap anyone of my friends for his safe return, You fear he could be dead in a ditch somewhere but we are still holding out hope. We are offering a reward of €1,500.

‘If he was somewhere over in the UK then at least we would know he was still alive. If he was dumped somewhere then I think we would have found out by now.

‘He is microchipped and neutered, so he isn’t any good for breeding.

‘We would just love to find out that he is safe and get him back home where he belongs. No questions will be asked. We just want him home,’ said Mikey.

Tyson was kept on a long, walk-about lead, in the back garden, and the O’Connor family are convinced he was stolen.

‘He was still out the back at 3.30 a.m. when my brother was still up, but when my dad went to walk him at 9 a.m., he was gone. His lead had been cut so he has to have been stolen,’ added Mikey.

Anyone who has information which could help the O’Connor’s, or who thinks they saw a dog resembling Tyson, should contact 086 2213613.
