$1,000 reward offered for information on fatal Northampton County kennel fire that killed 13 dogs

On Sunday Oct. 22, 2023 at approximately 1:35 p.m., the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a location outside of Gaston off of Highway 46, in reference to a structure fire. Upon arrival and investigation, it was determined that several dog kennels were burned that contained 13 Beagle dogs. These dogs were found to be deceased within the dog kennel enclosure from the fire. This was ruled as an arson investigation. These animals died a senseless and cruel death as they had no way of escaping the harsh fire that consumed their kennels.

During this arson investigation, no evidence has been developed to bring the person(s) responsible for the death of the 13 Beagle dogs to justice. Anyone that has any information that will lead to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this arson are encouraged to contact Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.
