$10,000 reward offered for information in Columbia homicide from January

Police are now offering a reward up to $10,000 for information in the January homicide of Natanael Rodriguez Cuxun.

Detectives believe the incident stemmed from an altercation that occurred nearby earlier in the evening.

The victim in the Jan. 21 shooting in Columbia died Monday at the hospital from his injuries, and Howard County police are now offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information in the case.

Natanael Rodriguez Cuxun, 17, of Arlington, Va., was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Snowden River Parkway just south of Rustling Leaf at approximately 2:10 a.m. when he was shot.

Detectives believe the suspect fired several shots at his vehicle from another vehicle that then fled the scene.

Cuxun was struck once; the other two occupants of the vehicle were not injured.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting, but do not believe it was random.
