A reward is being offered for information on the owner of a dog found in Hubbard.

The dog, now named Penny, was found wandering on Lincoln Avenue.

She is on a long road to recovery under the care of the Healthy Hearts and Paws Project in Brookfield.

Penny has a number of injuries, her ears are completely gone and her tongue and almost all of her teeth are gone or worn down. She is also extremely emaciated and has two small tumors that will need to be removed in the future.

Her top lip is torn from the gum line due to trauma as well.

The injuries to her mouth leave her needing water from a syringe and to be hand-fed. She is also unable to pant and needs to avoid high temperatures.

The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project is offering a $1,100 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Penny’s former owner.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local police department, the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County’s Humane Department or the Healthy Hearts and Paws Project.

AWL agents say an investigation into Penny’s case is pending enough information on the owner.
