4 Individuals Charged with Cruelty to Animals in Town Court

NEW BERLIN, N.Y. — Four individuals linked to farm animal neglect in New Berlin appeared in town court on Wednesday.

Katheriena Goude, Helen Goude, Dominick Brown and Jane Richards faced charges yesterday, including aggravated cruelty to animals, overdriving, torturing, and injuring animals, and failing to provide proper sustenance.

Katheriena and Helen pleaded not guilty in court today and are set to return on June 26.

Brown and Richards opted to have each of their charges read aloud. Brown is facing 104 counts, while Richards is facing 96.

The charges stem from a case at a farm on Clark Lane, where over 100 animals were rescued, and numerous were discovered deceased.

The Susquehanna SPCA and the New York State Police held a press conference with new information about an animal cruelty case in the Village of New Berlin.  

Friday began a heavy working weekend for the Susquehanna SPCA, New York State Police and others, working on a massive, suspected animal cruelty case at 107 Clark Lane in New Berlin.
