A couple was arrested for animal cruelty in Nye County on Monday, police says.
The Nye County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) arrested Oskana Higgins and Vasili Platunov on charges of felony animal abuse and negligence.

NCSO says during the investigation, they obtained a warrant for a property in Amargosa Valley where 300 dogs were seized. Deputies and Animal Control Officers stayed through the night for investigation and to take care of the dogs.
This is an ongoing investigation and several more charges are expected to be added for Higgins and Platunov, says NCSO.
