Man arrested on the charges of animal cruelty and making criminal threats in Artois

ARTOIS, Calif. – The Glenn County Investigations and Narcotics Task Force (GLINTF) arrested a man on Friday in Artois for allegations of animal cruelty and criminal threats in relation to a post on social media.

The Glenn County Sheriff’s Office saw a social media post where Ricardo Garcia, 30, of Artois, recorded himself killing and mutilating a live animal. Garcia also made repeated threats to US Military Personnel and the US President as he was committing the act.

GLINTF, with help from the Glenn County Probation Department, found several dead, mutilated ducks where Garcia was living, according to the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office.

The Orland Police Department stopped and detained Garcia on County Road 16, at Interstate 5, in relation to the investigation.

GLINTF agents responded and arrested Garcia. He was taken to and booked into the Glenn County Jail, without incident, on the charges of animal cruelty and making criminal threats, according to the Glenn County Sheriff’s Office.

The Glenn County Sheriff’s Office will forward the case to the Glenn County DA’s Office for prosecution.
