Reward offered after giant sequoia ‘poisoned’ in NE Portland

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information about damage done to an ancient three in Portland’s Sabin neighborhood.

According to police, a giant sequoia tree on Northeast 12th Avenue was reportedly poisoned after holes were drilled into its base. The incident was initially reported to authorities in February of this year.

The Audubon Society of Portland has offered the reward for any information related to the case — people can contact the organization directly or call the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division.
