Sequoyah County man pleads guilty to a federal firearm charge

A Sallisaw man has pleaded guilty to a federal firearm charge. The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 63-year-old Bobby Laymone Sanders pleaded guilty to one charge of felon in possession of firearm and ammunition.A news release from the Department of Justice says Sanders had a semi-automatic .40 caliber pistol and two rounds of ammunition. The release says Sanders knew he was not allowed to have a firearm as a convicted felon. He will stay in federal custody in Muskogee until he’s sentenced.
