BACK TO YOU GUYS. THE SEARCH FOR A MISSING TEEN IN DODGE COUNTY IS OVER. JACKSON POTTER’S BODY WAS FOUND IN THE PLATTE RIVER. INVESTIGATORS SAY THE 17 YEAR-OLD WAS SWEPT AWAY TRYING TO SAVE HIS SISTER. KETV NEWSWATCH SEVEN’S DAVON TAYLOR HAS MORE FROM HIS FAMILY. IT’S A CALL NO PARENT COULD EVER IMAGINE. AND ACTUALLY, IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY DID LOCATE THE BODY AND WE HAVE IT OUT OF THE WATER. A REALITY FOR JENNIFER BLACK THAT CAN’T BE ERASED. THURSDAY, HER SON’S BODY WAS FOUND IN THE PLATTE RIVER. WHITE MALE, NO SHIRT, BLACK SHORTS. ALRIGHTY. YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO ONLY BE HANDED. WHAT IN LIFE? WHAT YOU CAN HANDLE. AND I GUESS I DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW SOMEBODY SUPPOSED TO HANDLE THIS FEELING. MOMENTS LOST THAT SHE SAYS SHE’LL NEVER GET TO EXPERIENCE WITH HER SON. I HAVE ALREADY BEEN LIKE PREPARING MYSELF FOR HIM TO BE LEAVING FOR SCHOOL FOR COLLEGE? UM, AT THE BEGINNING OF FALL OR FOR FALL SEMESTERS THAT PLAN NOW TURNED INTO A BURIAL ARRANGEMENT. HE NEEDS TO BE REMEMBERED, NOT JUST KNOWN FOR RIGHT NOW, BUT HE’S HE’S GOING TO BE REMEMBERED. AND I’VE GOT TO FIGURE OUT SOME WAY TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN. ONE MEMORY WILL ALWAYS LAST. THE HEART AND COMPASSION. JACKSON DISPLAYED. IT WAS VERY SPECIAL.

The search for 17-year-old Jackson Potter has come to a heartbreaking end after his body was discovered in the Platte River. Jackson had gone missing while attempting to rescue his sister, according to investigators.”It sounds like they did locate the body, and we have it out of the water,” a Douglas County dispatcher said.
