‘He is a hero’: Stranger saves mother and daughter after snowy car crash

I personally have never driven in weather that bad while stuck on the side of the road and the car on its side, I fell on the driver’s side. So I’m actually sitting on my window and it’s cold. She’s above me, still in her seat belt hanging on. So she doesn’t fall on me. Jenny Zimbelman and her daughter were in *** very scary situation. Another minute. You don’t know what car could have come sliding in or anything like that. They were 11 miles out from East Grand Forks on County Road 19 when they hit *** snow drift and ended up crashing and for what it felt like forever. They saw car after car after car drive past them. I was like, why is nobody stopping for us? Cause you could see us through the windshield and like I was like, I just want someone to help us. I just want to get out of the car because I was like, I was scared that somebody was going to crash into us too. But out of nowhere, *** stranger appeared and rescued them from the car, fighting the elements. He was able to get them out extremely cold out. Like my hands started burning immediately and I was still like, scared on top of the car. So then as soon as we both had gotten down and then, um, then I felt like way better and Zimmerman says he took off like *** superhero before they could get his name to have somebody who doesn’t know me or my daughter pull over on *** very bad bad day, climb up on the top of *** car, open the door, get us out safe and then, then he, then he just left. He, he is *** hero.

The two women said it was a very scary situation.

“Another minute you don’t know what car could have come sliding in or anything like that,” Zimbleman said.

Unable to get out, the mother and daughter watched as other cars passed by on the slick road.

“I was like, why is nobody stopping for us because you can see us through the windshield? I just want somebody to help us, I just want to get out of the car,” Torres said. “I was scared that somebody was going to crash into us too.”

Out of nowhere, an unnamed “hero” climbed atop their car.

Torres said it was “extremely cold out,” but the stranger braved to elements to make sure she and her mom got out of the vehicle.

“Extremely cold out, my hands started burning immediately and I was still scared on top of the car so as soon as we both had gotten down then I felt way better,” Torres said.

After safely getting the women out of the vehicle, the man took off like a superhero before they could get his name.

“To have somebody not know me or my daughter, pull over on a very bad, bad day, climb on top of a car, open the door, get us out safe and then he just left. He is a hero,” Zimbelman said.

The duo hopes they are able to someday find the man who saved them.
