An Amazon driver in Des Moines, Iowa rescued a cat who was thrown from a moving vehicle.
Just a few short days ago, a black house cat was tossed from the driver’s side window of a slowly moving vehicle in Des Moines, Iowa. It’s unclear why the driver of the vehicle felt the need to do this, but luckily, there was an Amazon delivery driver not far behind who saw it all go down. The delivery driver pulled to a stop and scooped the cat off the street. By the time the Amazon driver had gathered his wits, the cat’s owner was long gone.
The driver brought the cat to Iowa Pet Foods and Seascapes, a local pet store, where owner Lori Sandahl took the cat in. Sandahl reports that the cat is doing extremely well, and seems to have been taken decent care of by whoever last owned it, making the toss from a car window all the more mysterious. “She is just full of life,” Sandahl stated. “Purring from the moment she came in the front door, so she knows she is in a safe place.”

Sandahl’s plan is to take the cat in for a routine veterinary check-up and quarantine for a short period to ensure everything is fine. After that, the process of rehoming will begin, and Sandahl believes she’ll be able to find a great new owner for the black feline.
Amazon delivery drivers seem to have a knack for animal rescue. In 2020, a driver saved an aged dog from drowning in the pool of a Woburn, Massachusetts home. The driver, John Cassabria, insisted that he was only at the right place at the right time. Thankfully, the unnamed delivery driver who saved the abandoned cat was also in the right place at the right time. We’re happy to know that the cat is receiving expert care and will soon find a new home.
