PIKESVILLE, Md. — A coordinated effort by the Maryland Car Rally Task Force, in collaboration with the Maryland State Police Special Operations Division and local law enforcement agencies, led to the disruption of seven unlawful exhibition driving events on Saturday night, police said.
The task force intervened in multiple Maryland counties, including Howard, Anne Arundel, and Baltimore, where as many as 200 participants had gathered in parking lots and attempted to block intersections to conduct dangerous driving stunts.

Since its establishment in June 2024, the Maryland Car Rally Task Force has been targeting illegal “takeover” events, where drivers block roads to perform stunts, causing traffic disruptions, property damage, and posing a risk to public safety. The task force has employed increased patrols and initiated comprehensive criminal investigations to hold offenders accountable.
The task force comprises members from the Maryland State Police, local law enforcement agencies, and other allied police departments across the state. Investigations are ongoing, and further arrests are expected as authorities continue to monitor and address exhibition driving events in the region.
