7 people robbed, left beaten inside closet at Grundy County restaurant

7 people were robbed, beaten, and left inside a closet at a Grundy County restaurant last Friday, the sheriff’s office says.

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office says a reward is being offered for the arrest of the suspects.

The 7 people were inside Miso Hungry Restaurant cleaning and renovating when the sheriff’s office says 2 men entered the building.

GCSO says the men pointed gun at the 7 people inside, forcing them into a small storage closet.

Some individuals told the sheriff’s office through a translator that they felt a sharp pain in their back, possibly a knife, as they were forced inside the closet.

Once inside the closet, GCSO says the 7 victims were beaten and robber of their jewelry, wallets, cash, and anything else of value on their person.

The victims told deputies that the men cursed at them and told them to “get back to your own country.”

The sheriff’s office says approximately $1500 cash and $5,000-7,000 in valuables was stolen.

GCSO says 4 of the victims were taken to the ER with minor injuries.

The suspects were described as wearing black ski masks, long sleeve shirts, blue jeans, black shoes, and black gloves.

The victims told deputies both were about 6ft and one man was slender while the other was somewhat heavy set.

GCSO believes the gun they had was a black semi auto pistol.

The family of the victims are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The suspects may be driving a stolen 2007 white GMC truck with plate number 40727CP.

GCSO says if you have information, contact Investigator Avery McGinness at (931) 383-0770.
