Man punches Giant Food employee, steals cash in Montgomery County: Police

Authorities in Montgomery County are looking for a suspect accused of a strong-arm robbery that occurred last month inside a Giant Food grocery store in Bethesda.

Officers with the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) were dispatched to the store in the 7100 block of Arlington Road on June 25 around 11:30 a.m. in response to a reported robbery.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the store and attempted to return stolen merchandise in exchange for a cash refund. When store employees denied his request, the suspect punched one employee in the face before taking an undisclosed amount of money from another employee, police said.

The suspect then fled the scene.

Surveillance footage captured photos of the suspect and police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying him.
