Mini-mart employee attacked in his Monroeville home before suspect burglarized the store

Police said a clerk at a mini-mart in Monroeville was attacked by a man who followed him home. The attacker later used a stolen key to burglarize the store where the clerk worked.The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on May 22.Police said the clerk was robbed at gunpoint at his home and then bound with zip ties and placed in a closet.Police said the attacker stole the victim’s car, keys and cell phone and used a key to enter the mini-mart, stealing cash from a locked cabinet as well as at least 12 strips of scratch-off lottery tickets.Police said the victim’s car and phone have been recovered.Police said the suspect had a broad nose, thick eyebrows, an apparent wrinkle above the nose and between the eyes on the forehead and was wearing shoes with white on the side and black soles.Police did not identify the name of the store that was burglarized.
