Suspect In Pava LaPere Murder Apprehended By U.S. Marshals: Police

The man wanted in the death of 26-year-old tech CEO Pava LaPere, as well as an earlier arson and rape, was apprehended by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday. Jason Dean Billingsley, 32, of Baltimore, was taken into custody at a train station in Bowie.

Reward Doubled For Information Leading To Suspect In Rachel Morin Case

The reward for information that leads to finding Rachel Morin’s killer has increased to $20,000. The law firm, Rice, Murtha, Psoras on Tuesday announced the increase in the reward, which is double what was originally offered by the Harford County Sheriff’s Office and Metro Crime Stoppers.

Students Make ‘Antisemitic Salute’ At High School

A group of students at Montgomery Blair High School were seen filming themselves during lunch period last Wednesday “performing an antisemitic salute,” according to the school’s principal.

Deputies continue to search for the man they say robbed a bank. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the Truist Bank in the 3500 block of Conowingo Road for an armed robbery report.

Parasite Found In Baltimore-Area Drinking Water, Prompting Warning

Low levels of the parasite Cryptosporidium were discovered in Druid Lake Reservoir, one of two reservoirs that provide drinking water to Baltimore area, officials said. According to a release from the Baltimore Department of Public Works, Cryptosporidium is a micro-organism commonly found in lakes and rivers and can cause gastrointestinal problems.

Cop Charged For Stealing Cash From Business: Records

A Baltimore police officer is facing after he was reportedly caught on camera stealing cash from a business, according to authorities and a report. Eric Payton, 46, of Baltimore was charged with misconduct in office and theft after he was accused of stealing $111 from a business in the 4800 block of Belair Road.

A Maryland man who was wrongfully convicted of murder and assault will be compensated by the state for the five years he spent in prison, according to multiple reports.

Man Found Guilty Of Killing Security Guard During Armed Carjacking

A 26-year-old man has been found guilty of killing a 23-year-old security guard during an armed carjacking. During the trial, which wrapped up with a verdict Tuesday, Assistant State’s Attorney Daniel Kim maintained that the killing was premeditated by Desmond Mbah, 26.

MD home’s Basement, Greenhouse Burn In Fire: Official

Emergency workers were called to the 6700 block of Hitching Post Court in Clarksville for a report of a house fire. When crews arrived, they found a fire in an attached greenhouse and heavy fire in the basement.

Fire Causes $100K Damage To Detached Garage

A detached garage caught on fire Saturday night at 2940 Grafton Lane in Churchville. A Level Volunteer Fire Company firefighter sustained a minor injury that he didn’t discover until returning to the fire department, but he refused treatment.
