Suspect Arrested in DC Armed Carjacking After Swift Police Response

WASHINGTON, DC – An armed carjacking suspect has been arrested following a rapid response by law enforcement on October 11.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., the victim was inside his vehicle in the Unit block of Hanover Place, Northwest, when two suspects approached. One suspect brandished a handgun and demanded that the victim exit his vehicle. The victim complied, and the suspects fled in his vehicle.

Shortly after, MPD’s helicopter, Falcon One, located the stolen vehicle in the Seventh District. Officers responded to the area and arrested one of the suspects. A 17-year-old male from Southeast, D.C., has been charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun).

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for violent crimes in the District of Columbia.
