Madera County — Thieves went to great lengths to steal two vintage cars being stored on a ranch in rural Madera County.
Now the owner is crying a river of tears over her two stolen Model T’s.
These two Model T’s helped put the world on wheels a century ago. Lori Sterling-Daulton has a collection of four Model T’s.
She believes sometime either Sunday or Monday crooks busted through two fences on the ranch and loaded up the two cars and drove off.
“I cried most of the day on Tuesday because this was, this was my Father’s. My Dad was working on all this and it was really hard,” Daulton said.
After Daulton’s father passed away she decided to keep four Model T’s. One for her and three for her children. They are heirlooms that carry great meaning.
“This is something my Dad and uncle, from up in Canada they brought all these Model T’s down and my Dad was working on these for years,” Daulton said.
Replacement parts like fenders, steering columns, racks for luggage, gas cans, water cans, oil cans, and a girl’s bicycle dating back to the 70’s were also stolen from the storage container.
But the crooks didn’t load up the last two Model T’s.
“I would think that they may go to a swap, they may go to a scrapyard. They may try and sell it Craig’s List, Facebook Market,” Daulton said.
Daulton hasn’t given up hope. She’s hoping for a miracle.
“I would hope to get them back, just the T’s. Who cares about the rest of the parts? I would just love to get the T’s back,” Daulton said.
It makes her so sad because Daulton planned to keep these treasures in the family, forever.
